Creative Edge publishes guides about gambling harm for people who run their own business or work for themselves. This page explains how we prepare, check and correct what we publish, so you can trust what you read here.

How topics are chosen

We write about the questions people actually ask when gambling is affecting their business or their personal life. Topics come from the concerns that self-employed people and business owners face: protecting money set aside for tax, talking to your accountant, keeping work devices clear of gambling, understanding what support exists. We choose subjects that matter to your situation, not subjects that sound important in theory.

How a guide is researched

Every guide draws on official sources: government sites, the UK's gambling regulator and licensed support organisations. We check facts against more than one source where possible, so you are not reading one person's interpretation. At the end of each guide you will find a list of further reading – the sources we used – so you can look deeper if you want to.

How it is written

We write in plain language. Terms are explained when they first appear, because you may know your business inside out but not know gambling support services. We do not exaggerate or promise that reading a guide will fix everything; recovery is work, and sometimes you will need help beyond what words on a page can give. What we do is give you clear, honest information to move forward with.

Independence

Nothing on this site is paid for or sponsored. No one pays us to rank anything or to put their information first. We do not sell anything to you. The editorial team decides what is published, and that decision rests on whether the material is useful and true.

Updates and corrections

Guides are reviewed when the law changes, when organisations update their services, or when new information becomes available. If you spot an error or something that is out of date, write to [email protected] and we will correct it without delay. Your feedback matters; it helps us keep this site reliable.

Suggesting a topic

If there is a question about gambling harm and your business that you cannot find answered anywhere, write to [email protected] with the topic in mind. We read every suggestion. We cannot promise to write about everything, but we listen to what readers need.

Content about gambling is written with safer gambling in mind. If you are struggling with gambling, confidential support is available. 18+
