The Neighbourhood Plan is a community plan to manage development in the next twenty years to maintain a balance of economy, environment and social needs. Truro City and Kenwyn Parish joined together to work on the plan and asked Creative Edge to produce a leaflet which would provide the opportunity to gather public opinion. We went on to disguise a Scout trailer into a display for a day in Truro gathering more opinion and highlighting the opportunity to have your say in how Truro and Kenwyn Parish are developed. The event sparked a lot of interest from a diverse range of the community.

After sponsoring the Ignite Cornwall Business Plan competition for the second year, Creative Edge are now working with winners Sproggie as part of the prize package.
Michael Mailling of Sproggie has designed an ingenious plastic spoon that clips to popular baby food pouches to make on-the-go baby feeding a simple single-handed affair with hardly any mess.
“Judging was once again made incredibly hard by the high standard of entries. There really are many talented entrepreneurs in our industrious county.” commented Dave Rickett, “In the end though, Sproggie had developed a fantastic product that tickled the taste buds of the judges”.
Creative Edge has initially been involved in developing the Sproggie brand.

Creative Edge were delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor a category in the DESIGNED. IN CORNWALL exhibition at University College Falmouth.
The event showcased the outstanding design and technology work produced by students at schools and Higher Education colleges across Cornwall and is the only large-scale exhibition of its kind in the country.
The high standard meant that Senior Designer Leo Stockley had his work cut out when judging the Graphic Product category, but a bauhaus inspired chess board by Joe Cooke of Roseland School was the stand out for its consistency of style. Highly Commended went to Amy Johnstone of Camborne Science & Community College Academy – whose Shoe as a promotional item for a bad was superb. There was a huge variety of inspirational work, from textiles and fashion to food technology. Some of the stand outs in various catergories included the coffin wardrobe, washing machine BBQ and typography on the reading chair (see images below).

Renowned for their unique brand of Dance story telling, Cscape’s talented ensemble of performers will be collaborating with a hundred dancers, young and old, writers, artists and musicians to tell the secret stories that are growing in Trebah gardens. Stories of flowers whose scents break hearts, plant hunters who travelled the world for rare blooms, homecomings and leavings, this will be a show to excite all your senses.
Cscape will be creating a week of extraordinary site specific performance events at Trebah Gardens in early July. The intoxicating evening performances by Cscape will feature fire, dance, music and poetry, accompanied by a Community Dance Company of 100 dancers and Cornwall Youth Dance Company. The Venus Flower and other stories is part of the wider Global Garden project taking place at Trebah all week.
Creative Edge are thrilled to be involved and have designed posters, leaflets, invites and advertising for the event, all of which have been printed by our friends at St Austell Printing Company.

Creative Edge were recently involved with both the Cornwall Business Awards and the Ignite Cornwall Business Plan Competition and would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the winners of both events.
Dave Rickett, who sat on the judging panel, was very impressed with the high standard and diversity of entry in the Ignite Cornwall Business Plan Competition which saw Rokka Play given first prize for their business plan, amongst very stiff competition.
An entertaining evening was had at the Cornwall Business Awards, which were attended by Dave and Melinda Rickett, Leo Stockley from Creative Edge and Simon and Vanessa Hendra. A talk was given by Karren Brady, prior to the announcing of the winners. In particular we would like to say well done to Proper Cornish for Best Diversification and St Austell Printing Company for Customer Focus.
For both events Creative Edge worked on various graphic elements.
