A Great Finish

As a worldwide Olympic Partner, local Paralympic sponsor and Sustainability
Partner of London 2012, GE was the exclusive provider of a wide range of innovative products and services that were integral to staging the successful Olympic and Paralympic Games.
To celebrate their involvement GE asked Creative Edge to produce a brochure, along with a folder and CDs to be used by atheletes during the Games when attending the Polyclinic – a medical facility located in the Athletes’ Village that provided clinical services to hundreds of competitors.

Have your say

The Neighbourhood Plan is a community plan to manage development in the next twenty years to maintain a balance of economy, environment and social needs. Truro City and Kenwyn Parish joined together to work on the plan and asked Creative Edge to produce a leaflet which would provide the opportunity to gather public opinion. We went on to disguise a Scout trailer into a display for a day in Truro gathering more opinion and highlighting the opportunity to have your say in how Truro and Kenwyn Parish are developed. The event sparked a lot of interest from a diverse range of the community.

Access the strategy

Continuing their work with Cornwall Isles of Scilly LEP (CIOSLEP) Creative Edge has refreshed the home page of their website. The updated design highlights important content within the site on the homepage and allows the CIOSLEP to make changes throughout with the Content Management System. Quick visible access to the CIOSLEP strategy being a top priority.

The responsive layout also adapts the site depending on your viewing platform, allowing the site to be easily explored on smart phones, tablets or desktop computers.

Webcast Launch

Creative Edge has been working with The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to launch its economic strategy via a webcast.
The launch took place on the 28 June via a live webcast with LEP Chairman Chris Pomfret. There was also a short film featuring a number of successful businesses from Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly that reflect the key points of the strategy and was followed by an hour long webchat with Chris and fellow LEP board member Simon Tregoning, who is chairman of Helston based Classic Cottages.
The economic strategy has involved input from hundreds of local businesses and sets the future direction for economic growth in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly for the next eight years.
The webcast can be viewed online at www.cornwallandislesofscillylep.com/webcast.

Spa and Expansion

Continuing to develop the refreshed brand for St Michael's Hotel and Spa, Creative Edge are delighted with the new look Spa brochure. An increased page size now brings it inline with other brochures and the content has been re-structured and lightened.

St Michaels continues to grow it's brand with air time on the ITV This Morning show and the purchase of the Old County Hall site in Truro, which will be developed into a 40-bedroom hotel and spa, creating about 100 jobs and bringing a landmark spa to Truro.

Continuing our work with Superfast Cornwall we're pleased to see a responsive layout now incorporated into the website. This allows the site to be easily viewed on iPhones and iPads – other phones and tablets are available.

Look out for Superfast Cornwall at the Royal Cornwall Show and be sure to visit the website and check your telephone number to see if you could be Superfast enabled.

Media Central

Journalists have been flocking to the new Cornwall Media Hub website. The microsite has been designed to be a quick and efficient resource for members of the media seeking information, images or film footage of Cornwall.

The responsive website, built and designed by Creative Edge can be easily viewed on smart phones, tablets, laptops and desktop browsers. The site offers a wealth of assets for the media industry and promises to be a useful resource for promoting the county.

Leo Stockley said 'We wanted the site to be very simple allowing quick access to press releases, imagery and video, whilst building a site which was able to be viewed across the spectrum of devices'.

Smell the Sea Air

Creative Edge has been working with St Michael's Hotel and Spa on a refresh of their branding and one item rolling out in the new look is the Seaview newsletter. The first new-look issue was well recieved and we're pleased to see the second arrive through the post today. The popular newsletter has been expanded to include more articles and a regular menu from the hotels Head Chef Nick Hodges, not to mention tempting offers. Lead designer Leo said, 'It has been great to expand the Seaview and bring it into a more magazine based feel. The feedback has been positive and we're already looking forward to working on the next issue!'

New look Christmas brochures are also already out and advertising is being rolled out in various media.

Seymac Distribution have rolled out their new guides following a complete refresh from the team here at Creative Edge

The bright new Room Browser, For One and All guide and Event poster include impactful photography, bright, strong typograpghy and a clear location colourway. The For One and All guide benefits from new editorial sections, fun facts and figures, clear event listing and a humourous look at Cornish words. Lead designer Leo said 'It was a great project to be involved with. The guides have really come together following the new design. Feedback has been positive and the new material offers a powerful advertising platform for Cornwall's attractions'.

Just Browsing

With mobile phones doing so much more than making a phone call and with the introduction of new products such as the ipad, website browsing habits are changing.

Looking at recent Google Analytic results from a range of our websites has given us a clear indication that this is the case. Visitors have increased overall over the the last year but the most dramatic increases have been in the numbers of website visitors using ipads, iphones, androids and other mobile devices. On average there has been a 500% increase in visitors using ipads, 250% using iphones and 500% using androids when comparing January 2011 with the same month in 2012.

This indicates a clear shift in numbers away from the traditional desktop PC and reinforces the need to make sure your online presence caters for visitors using new mobile devices. This trend is not limited to the youth market either with one website whose target audience is the over 60's seeing the same big increases.

Creative Edge are happy to discuss these exciting developments with any existing or new clients, just call 01872 260023 to arrange an appropriate time to discuss your online options.

Winning Ways

Creative Edge are delighted to see some of our clients winning top honours in the South West Tourism awards.

Congratulations go to Penlee House Gallery and Museum who were awarded Gold in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year, Trebah Garden with a Gold in the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year and Gwel an Mor with a Gold in the Holiday Park and Village of the Year – judges' comments complementing their clear  and informative website.

With St Michaels Hotel and Spa also coming away with a highly commended in Large Hotel of the Year, the results reflect the high standards that Cornwall now offers it's visitors and locals alike.

We look forward to continuing our work with everyone involved and look forward to future success.

In Your Area...

Superfast Cornwall have launched press ads in media across the county. The ads, featuring inspirational imagery, highlight the areas in parts of which Superfast broadband is available and encourage members of the public to check if they can order by visiting superfastcornwall.org.

Summer is just around the corner

Fresh back from the printers, the Cornwall Guide for summer 2012 is packed with information on the counties top tourist attractions. The 52 page guide of the Cornwall Association of Tourist Attractions (CATA) is available throughout the county or direct from CATA. Following on from the success of the new Cornish Farm Holidays website, we were pleased to produce an advert for inclusion in the CATA publication, alongside our work for other advertisiers such as National Trust.

Superfast Wrapped Up

We are used to unusual requests around this time of year and this year was no exception. As part of the ongoing marketing work for Superfast Cornwall, Creative Edge were asked to supply a large sheet of branded wrapping paper to launch an early Christmas present to another five Cornish Communities - including the well known 'broadband slow spot' of Trispen.

The announcement was particularly welcomed by the village's residents, who have been waiting for faster broadband for about four years. Rob Trethewey, the chairman of St Erme Parish Council, which covers the Trispen area, said: "This is fantastic news, a very important step forward for Trispen. It's the best Christmas present the village could have been given.

Green Isn't Easy, It's Global

GREEN IS GLOBAL 2011 is an environmental project for schools from all over the world which will culminate in a conference during October 2011 in the UK at the world famous Eden Project. At the conference students from schools across the globe will meet for the first time.

Green is Global has joined forces with NHS Forest and the Silvanus Trust to make a contribution to their carbon footprint by planting over 250 trees across Cornwall schools over the next month.

Creative Edge created a folder, conference programme, attendance certificate and posters. Items were printed on 100% post-consumer fibres, FSC ® certified and PCF (Process Chlorine Free) paper.
